Towards the end of our trip we were treated by our good friend an overnight stay at hotel as a break from sleeping in the car and not showering. We took this opportunity to spend a day in Sioux Falls to explore and relax in a little city. We walked around the downtown area where we saw lots of sculptures, breweries, boutiques and a nice park near the river. Falls Park has natural water Falls within it and we sat on the rocks and ate some ice cream enjoying the hot labor day. We continued on their 2 mile downtown walking path to a brewery, Remedy, in a converted warehouse with an outdoor patio that has sculptures and art immersed into the decor. We played 90’s Trivial Pursuit (Alex won mostly because he knew the answers to the tech and internet boom questions and Kelly didnt), enjoyed a flight of beer and then decided to walk over to another local brewery. Woodgrain brewing had a couple sour brew options and we tend to gravitate toward the gose end of the beer spectrum so we each got a different sour and played a game involving speed and matching. Kelly won this one, mightily 🙂 we learned that Alex has trouble matching under pressure but then he thwarted Kelly in Uno so it all evened out. We went out to dinner at a restaurant on the river and we felt like we got a good feel for what Sioux Falls had to offer.

We were grateful for the break from long days of driving and the opportunity to sleep in a big bed and ability to shower whenever we wanted 🙂 We hit the road the next day for our last camping stop before home- southeastern Minnesota, Myre-Big Island State Park.
