Pittsburgh
We have good friends who live in Pittsburgh, PA which is conveniently the mid point between Bloomington and our destination in the Catskills. This gave us a great opportunity to hang with Shan and Brent and their kids Luna & Rocco. We pulled in around 6 and found the kids waiting for us at the door. We had a quick chat on their back deck and then packed up their mini van for a free outdoor concert hosted by the local county. We set up our blankets and camp chairs and listened to a local Pittsburgh rock band covering a variety of 90s songs. There was a big turn out as this was the last of the summer concert series and it was nice being outdoors, catching up, watching the kids run around the grassy expanse enjoying some local live music.
We returned to their house, drank some tea and chatted for a while before heading to bed. The next morning we awoke to Shan and Brent making a pancake breakfast, we enjoyed them with a hearty pile of eggs and some Mugs of coffee before heading back to Carl for the leg of our journey to upstate NY.
